SIAC Spring 2019 Workshop - Working Together to Shape the Future
Following on from the successful SIAC Technology Transfer event in 2017 and the ‘Shaping the Future Workshop’ in 2018, the Spring 2019 SIAC Workshop, ‘Working Together to Shape the Future’, will focus on how UK Biotech particularly SMEs can work most effectively with UKRI to ensure the success of these important engines of innovation and translation.
The workshop will be held on April 30th between 11:30 to 14:30 and will be a syndicate based working lunch that will seek to identify :
- Effective mechanisms of engagement with UKRI for SMEs
- How the voice of SMEs can be heard by the research councils
- Lessons for the SME sector from large company engagement with UKRI
The workshop will be an invitation only event and will include representatives and speakers from the Research Councils and from the SME and large pharma community.

Annette is an external consultant with 28 years bioprocessing experience, who has supported three main bioprocessing projects within BIA since April 2014 – Manufacturing Advisory Committee (MAC), Medicines Manufacturing Industry Partnership (MMIP) and the Annual bioProcessUK Conference.
Annette has been a consultant since 2003, working with a range of academic and industrial organisations, and prior to that spent over 15 years in bioprocess development working for Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, British Biotech and Applikon Biotechnology. She gained a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MSc in Biochemical Engineering from Birmingham University.
